EMC+USB kit option
The kit consists of a built-in EMC filter C2 with shield support plate and EMC screw connection, as well as a USB mini-connector (socket with gold contacts, stainless steel housing, protective cap) on the underside of the frequency inverter for easy programming, monitoring and fault analysis from a PC or mobile device.
General EMC information
The filters are installed in the frequency inverter to maintain protection class IP55.
EMC mains filters are connected upstream of the frequency inverter on the mains side. They reduce the
the mains feedback of the frequency inverter to the values specified in the relevant standards
(see also "General EMC information")
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is defined as the ability of an electrical or electronic device to function satisfactorily / as intended in its intended environment without inadmissibly influencing this environment through self-generated electromagnetic interference. The legal basis in Germany is the EMC Act.
The relevant EMC standard for electrical drive systems for implementing the provisions of the EMC Act is EN 61800-3.
Some definitions of this standard that are particularly important in practice are presented below. For detailed information, see the ZVEI EMC guide for electrical drive systems and EN 61800-3.
First environment (residential, commercial and industrial areas): Environment that contains living areas
and also facilities that are connected directly to a low-voltage network without an
to a low-voltage network that supplies residential buildings.
Second environment (industrial area): Installations that are not directly connected to a low-voltage network
to supply residential areas.
Category C1 devicesRated voltage <1000V for use in the first environment.
Category C2 devicesFor use in the first environment that fulfil all of the following criteria
- Nominal voltage < 1000 V
- Not connected via plug-in devices
- Not portable
- Connection and commissioning may only be carried out by persons with technical
EMC expertise.
Category C3 devicesNominal voltage < 1000V, for use in the second environment. Use in the first environment is not intended.
Warning in the documentation:
"This device is not intended for connection to the public mains. When
connection to these networks may result in EMC interference",
Category C4 devicesFor use in the second environment that fulfil at least one of the following criteria:
- Rated voltage > 1000 V
- Rated current > 400A
- Connection to IT networks
- Required dynamic properties are not achieved due to the EMC filter measures
achieved
- An EMC plan must be drawn up!
